On the occasion of the Omani Women’s Day, Sohar Aluminium (SA) reiterated its commitment to empowering and promoting women in the workplace by organizing a special event on 14/10/2014 for its female employees and contractors. The function was graced by the attendance of three successful Omani women who excelled in their careers and exemplified the potential of Omani women in the workplace. These ladies were Dr Bushra Al Hasani, Head of Engineering Department at Sohar College of Applied Sciences, Ms Fadhila Al Ruheili, Chairwoman of the Omani Women Association in Sohar Branch, and Ms Badriya Al Jahwari, Branch Manager of Bank Sohar - Shinas Branch.

 

 

The event began with a welcome speech by Maisa Al Jahwari, one of SA successful ladies, and was followed by a talk wherein each guest spoke about their experiences and success stories as prominent women belonging to the Sultanate’s corporate landscape. Dr Bushra and Ms Badriya shared with the audience their early start in the world of business, the many challenges they had to face and how they successfully managed to overcome them through hard work and dedication, reaching respectable and dignified ranks in large corporations. Ms Fadhila gave the audience an insight into the role of Omani Women as contributors to the sustainable development of Al Batinah region. The talks were followed by an interactive question and answer session with the attendees.
