In recognition of its outstanding employees who contributed to the Pillars of the company’s business strategy, Sohar Aluminium (SA) held its annual Mumtaz Club Gala at Majan Hall on Monday, 13th February. The event was attended by SA’s CEO, Executive Committee’s members, Management Team as well as the employees who collected more than 100 points in their Mumtaz Passport.

 

The Mumtaz Club is an employee recognition scheme that has been tailored to be dynamic and fits SA’s culture and opens the opportunity for the employees to participate in achieving the targets of the company’s successes throughout the year. Employees are awarded points for proposing ideas and initiating actions for improvements in operations and processes, and participating in events and volunteering actions. Points are also given to employees for participating in health and safety campaigns and suggesting and implementing ideas to improve the safety standards.

 

The event started with a welcoming speech by SA’s CEO, Engineer Said Al Masoudi who thanked the attending employees for their contribution to the success of the 2016 Mumtaz club. “We are very proud of you and your achievements which reflect your passion, enthusiasm and commitment to the success of the company” Al Masoudi said. Also, Faisal Al Balushi, HRA Manager, addressed the audience and congratulated the employees for their accomplishments.

 

The employees had the chance to win exciting prizes including smartphones, tablets, TV Screens as well as the grand prize which was a furniture set. The employees who scored 100 points had one chance to win while the employees who scored150 points and above had two chances to win.

 

A special Mumtaz Club Achievers video was screened during the function featuring testimonials from some of the employees in recognition of their efforts towards the company’s success.

 

Also during the event special awards were presented to SA’s Pillars’ Achievers. These employees were selected through a rigorous process of nomination and selection by the SA Management based on their outstanding and valuable contribution towards achieving the objectives of the business strategy of Sohar Aluminium. The company’s six pillars are: Environment, Health and Safety, People, Productivity, Financial Strength, Corporate Citizenship and Customers.

 

In addition to these winners, 16 employees who completed 10 years of service with SA were recognized for their spirit of devotion and loyalty towards the company.
