More than 500 industry leaders and decision makers from around the world to converge in Muscat
Sohar Aluminium has announced that it will host the 21st edition of the prestigious Arab International Aluminium (ARABAL) Conference and Exhibition in the Sultanate of Oman. The conference will take place from 6th to 9th November 2017 at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa in Muscat. This year’s conference agenda will focus on “Driving Strategic Growth Across the Global Aluminium Industry”.
Since it’s inauguration in 1981, ARABAL has grown in both size and prestige and is today considered the premium platform for the aluminium industry in the Arab world. Hosted on a rotational basis, this event comprises of a strategic conference, an international exhibition, workshops and meetings focusing on current industry prospects and challenges. Professionals from a broad spectrum of the international aluminium industry participate in a series of presentations, panel discussions and case studies to drive strategic growth.
One of the highlights of the 2017 conference will be the highly anticipated panel discussion between the CEOs of the aluminium smelters in the GCC and Middle East, who will share their insights on the growth and sustainability of the aluminium industry in the region and its strategic role in the international market.
Expected to attract over 500 delegates and thousands of exhibition visitors, this year’s attendees will gain valuable insight into industrial developments, technical innovations, opportunities in the region, global economic trends, market price outlook, prospects of the aluminium industry supply and demand, trade and exports. Delegates will also be taken on a private tour to see the Sohar Aluminium smelter and its various facilities on the last day of the conference.

Sohar Aluminium was formed in September 2004 to undertake a landmark Greenfield aluminium smelter project in the Sultanate of Oman. It is jointly owned by Oman Oil Company, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC - TAQA and Rio Tinto.
