Sohar Aluminium (SA) held on Sunday, 17th February, its annual Mumtaz Club Gala Dinner to celebrate and award the outstanding efforts, hard work and solid performances of its 800 employees, recognizing their contributions to the company’s success in 2018. The event was attended by Sohar Aluminium’s CEO, Eng. Said Al Masoudi, the Management Team and more than 800 Employees. It also included a special section where the company acknowledge 245 employees who completed 10 years of service with the company.
The Mumtaz Club is an Employee incentive scheme that aims to reward individual excellence in realizing Sohar Aluminium’s vision, mission and objectives. Participants receive individual points for coming up with innovative ideas to improve productivity and financial performance. Other avenues include suggesting and implementing ideas for value creation and participation in the Volunteering Program, as well as the health and safety awareness campaigns and events.
The event kicked-off with the recognition of the long serving employees who were awarded certificates by the Executive Committee Members. Eng. Said Al Masoudi thanked the employees for their dedication, passion and hard work. Al Masoudi said: “Thanks to you, we’re leaders. At this career milestone, we honor you for the significant part you play in elevating our performance standards and unwavering commitment to business excellence”.
A number of employees were awarded trophies in recognition of their outstanding performance towards realizing the objectives of Sohar Aluminium’s six Business Strategy Pillars that include: Health, Safety & Environment, People, Productivity, Financial Strength, Corporate Citizenship, and Customers. The Pillars’ Champions took turn in announcing the winners highlighting their remarkable efforts to achieve this prestigious award. A special award was also presented to AL Nab’a Services Company as Business Partner of the Year.
Ahmed Al Kharusi, Sohar Aluminium’s General Manager of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs addressed the attendees and said: “The Mumtaz Scheme has been the cornerstone in Sohar Aluminium’s long history of recognizing our team. This program has been evolving over the years and it has been customized to empower the entire team to work as one unit towards achieving the company’s goals and objectives.”
Several draws were held throughout the event where attending Mumtaz Club achievers had the opportunity to win valuable prizes including electronic devices, home appliances and a grand cash prize. Sohar Aluminium continues to push boundaries in pursuit of business excellence in all areas of its operations. The company is playing an increasingly important role in the global aluminium industry.
Sohar Aluminium was formed in September 2004 to undertake a landmark Greenfield aluminium smelter project in the Sultanate of Oman. It is jointly owned by Oman Oil Company, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC - TAQA and Rio Tinto.
